Volume 2: 1812 Revenue Cutter 'Spartan'
The Story of the 'Spartan'.
The date is about 1803 and brothers Jeb and Jared Story find themselves working at Forster's Shipyard.
The Captain has recently been approached by Sir Winthrop Finch, the local banker, who commissions a 38 foot Clipper Ship to be built. The Clipper is to carry a single carronade mounted on a swivel amidships.
During the construction, Clare, Sir Winthrop's daughter, is kidnapped by what seem to be pirates and for some mysterious reason she re-appears a few days later. Coincidentally, Sir Winthrop now has a Letter of Marque giving him the status as owner of a privateer.
The new Captain of the ship, Charles, has the ship sent to Texas!
The Story of 'The Raven'.
The Captain is building a boat for his granddaughter and needs help. The word gets out and soon folks begin to show up. Emily, the first mate, begins to hire additional 'people'.
Building continues until one day an 'airmail' note flies into the Shipyard and the crew has to deal with a vicious cat and save a lost group of explorers on a deserted island.
The note inspires the crew to finish 'The Raven' as soon as possible but they soon find out that one of the crew has a nasty habit of zooming into the air when she has an idea.
Problems solved, the crew rescues the lost explorers.
