DID YOU KNOW?
Know your LEFT from your RIGHT !

Port - Port is always the left-hand side of the boat when you are facing the bow, the front of the boat.

Starboard - Starboard is always the right-hand side of the boat when you are facing the bow.

When used out in the open water, left and right can become confusing sailing terms.  Port and starboard are used as it relates to the bow of the boat.
SUN TIME

The sun moves about 15 degrees in one hour. That means that the sun moves about one degree every four minutes. Extend your arm and point four fingers horizontally across your face. This equals 8 degrees, or about 30 minutes of sun travel. Use this measure to find the amount of time until the sun sets. Use two hands to find how high the sun is in the sky from the horizon if one hand is not enough.
